On 26 May 2026, the Policy and Planning Division, Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, in collaboration with Consultant Consult2T, convened the Final Stakeholder Meeting to validate the Strategy and Operational Framework for Inter-Agency Coordination and Policy Coherence for Climate-Resilient Urban Planning and Development under the ECRUL Project.
The meeting brought together more than forty stakeholders from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, GovTech Agency, Dzongkhags, Local Governments, Thromdes, Civil Society Organizations and the private sector to review and validate the final draft framework.
The framework is aimed at strengthening institutional coordination, enhancing policy coherence, and promoting integrated urban planning approaches for climate-resilient development. Discussions focused on strategic diagnostic findings, institutional realignment, streamlined coordination mechanisms, digital integration and the mainstreaming of climate and gender considerations into urban planning processes.
Participants also deliberated on operational tools, implementation roadmaps, accountability mechanisms and agency commitments to support effective implementation and long-term collaboration.
The meeting marked an important milestone towards fostering collaborative, resilient and sustainable urban development in Bhutan.
