The Sustainable and Resilient Building Division under the Department of Human Settlement successfully conducted a Consultation Workshop on the Development of the Green Building Standard/Code and Tool on 6 February 2026 in Thimphu.
During the workshop, Environmental Design Solutions and Mandala Consultants (Joint Venture) presented the overall scope, methodology and deliverables for the development of the Green Building Code and its associated tools. This was followed by presentations on existing policies and guidelines, global best practices, key performance metrics and indicators, as well as a technical capacity and gap assessment undertaken by the consultants till date.
The sessions concluded with comments and feedback from participants, which will be incorporated into the subsequent stages of the development process.
