The Project Management Unit successfully coordinated site visits to the Jigme Wangchuck Power Training Institute (JWPTI) and the Tareythang Gyalsung Academy from 16–19 March 2026 in Gelephu. The visit brought together 22 urban planners, engineers, and technical professionals from Thimphu Thromde, Paro Dzongkhag, Thimphu Dzongkhag, and the Department of Human Settlement.
During the visit, participants explored the stormwater drainage system implemented at JWPTI and assessed its on-ground practicability for potential replication at ECRUL project sites under Thimphu Thromde.
The team was also introduced to the sewage treatment plant at the Gyalsung Academy, including innovative constructed wetland concepts, providing valuable insights into sustainable and nature-based wastewater management solutions.
